ℹ️ This article is an overview of charging at stations on the Chargefox network that require for you to bring your own cable.
--
Many AC public chargers on the Chargefox network do not have a cable tethered to the station. Drivers are required to source their own cable in order to charge. In the Chargefox app, we will highlight which stations and ports require you to bring your own cable.
How do I know which stations require a cable?
If you click on a map pin where one (or many) of the charging ports require you to bring your own cable, we will show this on the location screens in the app.
Why does the Chargefox app ask if I have my own cable?
To improve your charging experience, we will prompt you to ask if you own a public charging cable. Based on your response, we will store this information against your profile.
You can manage this setting in the My profile section of the app, under Equipment Details.

What is a public charging cable?
What type of connection is provided on the charging station, for my public charging cable to connect to?
I believe I require a Type 2 (male) connector to connect to my PHEV, but I am unable to identify what I need on the other end.
