Statement provided by NRMA
For over 100 years the NRMA has existed to keep people moving. As we lead the way and help Australia’s transition to an electric future, we are making changes to the NRMA Electric charging network so we can continue to deliver on this promise.
Since our original $10 million social investment in regional charging infrastructure in 2017, the NRMA network has grown to over 100 chargers across regional and remote communities and enabled over 1.7 million km of free charge to EV drivers.
To ensure we can continually reinvest in our network and offer more locations to charge across Australia, the NRMA introduced a fee for the use of our chargers from September 2023. As a mutual, NRMA’s core purpose remains to deliver value to our Members and the motoring public as we transition to an electric future. The charging rates on the assets which were acquired from Chargefox have now been calibrated and set at the same rate as all other NRMA EV chargers in our network, and we believe that our rates are comparable to other network providers.
