This guide outlines what your team and Chargefox need to do to get a new EV charging station live.
Roles & Responsibilities

⚠️Important: Chargefox manages the software and operational aspects of your charger only. We do not install, configure, or provide support for charge station hardware, Charge Box Identity (CBI), or network connectivity. For these, please contact your hardware supplier or installer.
Charger Onboarding Process
1️⃣ Check Hardware Compatibility (Chargefox)
- Confirm charger is on Supported Hardware List
- If not: submit a request to support@chargefox.com Hardware must pass evaluation (can take months)
2️⃣ Order Station Labels (Your Team)
- Refer to Station Sticker & Guidelines to identify which station labels you need for your hardware
- Order via Sticker & SIM Order Form
- Allow 2+ weeks delivery
- Order extra stock if doing multiple installs
3️⃣ Submit New Charger Form (Your Team)
- Submit the New Charge Form via Installers Portal
- Chargefox will create station in the portal and provide next steps
⚠️ No support for hardware setup, CBI, or networking
4️⃣Commission Station & Connect to Backend (Your Team)

5️⃣Submit Handover Form (Your Team)
- Once the station shows Connection Successful in the commissioning portal, submit the Handover Form via the Installers Portal
- Include the commissioning confirmation and all relevant station details.
- Please ensure all required station labels have been applied correctly before submitting. Refer to our Station Guidelines for correct label placement.
6️⃣Chargefox Completes Enablement (Chargefox)
- Chargefox verifies bi-directional communication with the station.
- Connector types, authorisation settings, price plan, and contract are configured.
- Station is set to public or private as agreed.
- Any additional platform-side configuration is completed at this stage.
7️⃣Station Goes Live (Chargefox)
- Chargefox sends a confirmation email once the station is enabled and live on the platform.
- The station will be visible on the Chargefox app and available for drivers to locate and use.
