This guide outlines the steps for both new and existing customers to set up their charge station and make it visible on the Chargefox platform.
For new Site hosts
If your organisation is new to Chargefox, complete our Account Setup Request form to set up a Site host account and begin the onboarding process.
Please note that you will need to have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) to set up an organisation account.
Once we've created your account, you’ll be ready to submit your first charge station request.
For existing Site hosts
If you already have an account with us, you or your installation partner will need to submit a New Charger Form. This provides our team with the necessary details about your charge station so we can create it on our platform.
You can refer to our Onboarding a New Station to the Chargefox Platform article that outlines the charge station onboarding process for Service partners.
Public or private?
As part of the onboarding process, you’ll need to specify if your station is public or private, as this defines who can access and use the station.
Public stations
Public stations will appear on the Chargefox app, making them visible and accessible to all users.
Drivers can start a charging session using either the Chargefox app or their RFID card.
To qualify as a public station, it must be easily accessible to the public. It should not be located behind a boom gate, inside a locked facility, or in an area with restricted access.
Marking a station as public means it is intended for the public use and shouldn't be restircted
Private stations
Private stations will not appear on the Chargefox app.
Drivers will need an RFID card to start a charging session. They can order a personal RFID card through the Chargefox app for $9.90.
If you wish to apply a price plan to a private station, we recommend displaying clear signage on-site to inform drivers of the rates.
- Marking a station as private means it is intended for internal or limited access use.
