This article provides an overview of how we pre-authorise your payment method in the Chargefox app.
Chargefox has introduced pre-authorisation in the Chargefox app. This will ensure that only genuine credit cards are used when you sign up to the Chargefox app.
The pre-auth amount will be $1.
How does it work?
When you add your credit card details for the first time, or update your card details, a pre-auth hold of $1 is placed against your card.
If this is successful, you will be able to charge.
If it fails, you will not be able to charge until you add a valid credit card that passes the pre-auth step.
A banner will appear in multiple locations in the app, instructing you to update your card details.
Once you have updated your credit card details, any outstanding invoices will also be processed.
What happens with the pre-auth amount?
The pre-authorisation charge is a hold placed on the your card for $1. This hold is cleared by your bank. It is not an actual charge against your card.
