What is an RFID card?

A Chargefox RFID card allows you to start a charging session as an alternative to using the Chargefox app. It’s a great option if you prefer not to rely on your phone or mobile data.

How to order an RFID card

For individual drivers, you can order an RFID card directly through the Chargefox app:

1. Open the Chargefox app.
2. Navigate to ‘My profile’.
3. Scroll down to ‘RFID cards’ and select ‘Order card’.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Ensure you have a valid payment method linked to your account before placing an order.

How to activate your RFID card

Once your RFID card arrives, follow these steps to activate it:

1. Open the Chargefox app.
2. Navigate to ‘My profile’.
3. Scroll down to ‘RFID cards’ and select ‘Add card’.
4. Enter the 8-character card number found on the front of your RFID card.

Received an RFID from your fleet or novated lease provider?

If your fleet or novated lease provider has supplied you with an RFID card or fob, you do not need to activate it in the Chargefox app. These are pre-configured and ready to use. Simply use the RFID at any compatible Chargefox station to start a charging session.
