Drivers can easily check station availability and status in real time using the Chargefox app. This helps you plan your charging session and avoid delays.
Launch the Chargefox app
If you haven't already, please download the Chargefox app via the Apple App store or Google Play.
Find your charging location
Use the map to search or navigate to the charging location you'd like to charge at. If you know the station ID number, you can also type it into the search bar.
TIP: Tap 'Allow' when the the app asks to use your current location. This will make it easier for you to find the stations closest to you.
Select your station
Tap the pin on the map. You will see more information about the charging location, including the location's charging speed, plug types and cost to charge. Tap the 'Details' button.
TIP: Type the station ID number in the search bar to directly go to the station.
Some charging locations host multiple stations in the same area. Look for the station's four- or five-digit station ID number: you should see it clearly on the front of the station.
Look for the port letter nearest to the cable you will be using. You will see a corresponding port letter in the app.
How to Check Station Availability
- Use the map to find your desired charging station
- Tap on the station to view more details
- Review the live status of each charger, including:
- Available
- In use
- Out of order
PIN Symbols
The pin symbols represent the following charger types:
- Orange pins without a lightning bolt indicate AC chargers with power rating of 22kW or less
- Orange pins with a lightning bolt indicate DC chargers with power rating of 24kW or higher
- Orange pins with a lightning bolt & three lines indicate ultra-rapid chargers with power rating of 50kW or higher
- Orange pins with a lightning bolt & three lines indicate ultra-rapid chargers with power rating of 50kW or higher
- Grey pins denote chargers that are currently unavailable or in use
You can also filter your search based on charging speed, cost and plug types. Simply click on the filter icon on the bottom right corner of the map and you should be able to filter your search.
What Information You Can See
Within the app, you can view:
- Real-time charger availability
- Station status and any known faults
- Connector types and charging speeds
- Site location and directions

Drivers are responsible for checking the Chargefox app for the latest station status before and during their charging session.
While we aim to provide accurate, real-time updates, availability may change quickly. We recommend monitoring the app to ensure the best charging experience.
