Some customers may receive a notification or email from Chargefox about unusually high charging activity on their subscription. This page explains what that means and answers common questions.
REMINDER - Subscription usage is governed by the Chargefox Subscription Policy
Why did I receive this message?
We monitor charging activity to help ensure:
- Fair access to chargers for all drivers
- Subscriptions are used as intended
- Our network remains reliable and equitable for everyone
Your account has been flagged because recent charging activity appears higher than what’s typically expected for normal personal driving.
This message is intended to make you aware of your usage, not to accuse you of wrongdoing.
Is there a charging limit on my subscription?
No.
There is no fixed kWh limit on subscriptions.
However, subscriptions are intended for:
- Personal driving only
- Use on the nominated vehicle
- Non‑commercial purposes
Charging patterns that fall outside these expectations may trigger a review.
What does “reasonable personal use” mean?
“Reasonable personal use” generally means:
- Charging for normal, day‑to‑day personal driving
- Using the subscription with the vehicle it is linked to
- Not sharing the subscription across multiple vehicles
- Not using the subscription for business, rideshare, delivery, or fleet purposes
How can I check my charging usage?
You can view your charging sessions in the Chargefox app:
- Open the app
- Go to Charge History
- Review individual charging sessions by date
At this time, the app doesn’t show a monthly total, so you may need to estimate usage by reviewing your sessions.
Am I being accused of fraud?
No.
This is not an accusation.
Most customers who receive this message simply adjust their charging behaviour and do not experience any further issues.
Will my subscription be cancelled?
If charging activity continues to appear unusually high or inconsistent with personal use, the subscription may be temporarily suspended while we review the account.
If usage returns to normal personal levels, no action is required.
Can I share my subscription with family or friends?
Subscriptions are linked to one nominated vehicle only.
Sharing a subscription across multiple vehicles or for business use isn’t permitted.
What should I do now?
If your charging reflects normal personal driving:
- No action is required
- Simply continue using your subscription as intended
If your usage has recently been higher than usual:
- Reducing charging to normal personal levels should prevent further action
