If you need to remove or replace a charge station on the Chargefox platform, this guide will walk you through the process and what you need to know to ensure a smooth transition.
Remove a Station
Purpose: Permanently decommission a station and take it off the Chargefox network.
How to Request Removal
To remove a station, the station owner must email our support team at support@chargefox.com and include the following details:
Station ID
Location
Reason for removal
We recommend submitting your request at least one week in advance to allow enough time for processing.
What Happens Next
Once processed, the station will be deactivated and removed from the Chargefox app and platform.
A confirmation email will be sent once the removal is complete.
Billing Information
Billing will stop on the day the station is removed from the platform.
You will be billed up until the removal date.
Replace a Station
Purpose: Upgrade or swap out existing charger hardware with a new unit.
What to Do
If you’re replacing a station:

Ensure the station being replaced is clearly identified in the process.
Once submitted, our team will onboard the replacement charger and update the platform accordingly.
Important Considerations
Installer responsibilities: Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting must be performed by a qualified installer or maintenance partner. Chargefox does not provide these services.
Charger compatibility: Ensure that the new charger is compatible with the Chargefox platform and supports OCPP connectivity. Refer to our supported hardware list.
User communication: If a station will be temporarily offline during removal or replacement, please notify your users or customers to avoid confusion or inconvenience.
